How to read the results

Monthly cost means the carrier's quoted rate for your death benefit, period, and chosen underwriting level, paid each month. Underwriting tier indicates the risk category that produced the quote; the carrier reviews and confirms it after examining your application. Medical exam shows whether the carrier orders a physical; several modern programs use expedited approval instead. A.M. Best score reflects each company's financial stability and creditworthiness.
