No-exam life insurance
Eligibility criteria for expedited underwriting, the approval process, and what occurs without it.
Today, many carriers offer expedited underwriting: for applicants within certain age brackets and amount ranges, decisions are made through application review, prescription records, motor vehicle reports, and other information rather than ordering a medical exam. Several programs return approvals within twenty-four hours. This site's quote details indicate whether the carrier requires an exam, may require one, or does not require one.
What it changes
Waiving the exam doesn't bypass the underwriting evaluation. The carrier checks your statements; a policy issued based on untrue information can be invalidated within the first two years. Should additional information concern the carrier, an exam or testing may still be needed, and you choose whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants under age 60 seeking coverage amounts within the program's standard maximum, without significant health problems and no tobacco products used during the last twelve months or more, are eligible. If a recent physical exam with laboratory tests exists, some providers will use those results instead of performing their own exam.
Should the carrier require an examination, expect a twenty to thirty-minute appointment with a medical professional at your home or workplace in the Los Banos area at no charge. For healthy applicants, exam results frequently result in a better rate tier, so the exam is not inherently disadvantageous.
